A bit about me...

My home where I grew up is in a Bengali Community based out of Lucknow. I have loved singing from my childhood and started receiving formal training in Hindustani Classical Music since the age of 5. Continuing our training, I won the State Level Competition conducted by the Sangeet Natak Academy at the age of 10. Subsequently, by the age of 11, I completed my Visharad - II securing 1st Division from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth in Lucknow.

Following year, I received the National Scholarship from the CCRT, Delhi and was humbled to get an opportunity to sing for Doordarshan and ETV. Things kept unfolding beautifully, but my desire to learn music in its true form left me searching for a Guru for years. Little did I know that my childhood fantasy of learning from the one and only Guru Padmabhushan Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty would come true. Learning from Him, has enriched my life like I could not have imagined.

My vision is to take this art in its purest form to reach a wider audience so that they also get to experience the divinity associated with this age old art-form. This art has the power to let people experience deep meditative experiences.

I also want to make learning this art a fun experience for the younger generation, the way it’s been for me, contrary to the belief that it’s a boring and a difficult art to master.

Music knows no national boundaries or religious differences. It touches not only human beings but also any and every living creature. As such, I envision to use this vehicle to raise awareness about different aspects about conscious living in the world that we live in with the intent to make this world a more joyful place for the future generations to come.
